the Human Connection, Nepal

from $2,895.00

It is with the most excitement that we bring you The Human Connection, a Portrait and Light workshop retreat in one the most incredible places, Nepal.

The workshop will be led by award winning photographer Sylvain Bouzat and assisted by the Finding the Light photographer Nadia Dole as we navigate the streets, markets and shrines we will teach and guide you on how to be comfortable in the street and how to see the street/lights, anticipating peoples movement and the details that can lift your images to a new level. Together we will teach you how to be confident with people your photographing, engage with your subject for welcoming interactions that will lead to more powerful and true portraits.

To photograph in this environment will literally « push you" to connect with other people, leaving the shyness that can alter your images. Through this you will become open minded, confident and as a result not only an image but the feeling.

We will be together for eight days as we start our first half in Khatmandu, we will be staying in a lovely guesthouse, share meals, conversation and interest. We will travel for overnights to capture the intimacy of a small villages and road in between. One such village will offer the most magnificent view of the Himalyas and its’ twenty five peaks. As well as where we will stay with a Napali family to experience the culture of it’s people. We will visit Stupas. temples and witness prayer. Such places give one a sense of comfort and opens up the heart. These ancient structures, a mix of buddhism and Hindu, are sacred places that are not only open for us to observe and capture but also to guide your own personal journey.

You will also have one on one time with instructors remotely before heading to Nepal, to discuss and start working on what your end goal is. Once in Nepal, there will be once again a one on one time with instructors to assist you and answer any questions you may have as well as go over images. You will have the opportunity to set out for an afternoon with your own personal guide/translator to put to practice what you have learned the previous few days.

We do hope you join us for this incredible opportunity to learn, discover and open up a new way of seeing and capturing while understanding everyday life of the nepalese culture.
